    Population, 20. C.J. Patterson, postmaster. First settled in 1879. Situated on the east bank of the St. Johns river, 54
miles south of Jacksonville, five miles south of Tocoi, the nearest express station, and eight miles west of St. Augustine,
the county seat and nearest banking point. Has one general store. Oranges are the principal shipment. The
DeBary-Baya Merchants' Line steamers make daily landings here, delivering the mails. Lands sell at $2 to $50 per acre.
