|Declaration ? ? ? Pension of Children under Sixteen years of Age.
State of Florida, County of Putnam, SS: on this 9th day of July A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight personally appeared before me clerk of the cir court Putnam
Co, Fla, a Court of Record within and for the County and State aforesaid Sarah Jordan resident of Palatka, County of Putnam, State of Florida aged 23 years, who, being duly
sworn according to law, make the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided by Act of Congress for children under sixteen years of age. That she is the
legitimate child of William Morris who (1) enlisted under the name of William Morris at Palatka Fla, on the 20th day of December A. D. 1862 (2) in Co G. 33rd Reg, U. S. C.
Troops, Vols. in the war of Rebellion, who died (3) at Beaufort S. C. of Pneumonia contracted in the military service aforesaid, whilst in the line of duty on the 2nd exactly ? A. D.
1864 and who bore at the time of his death the rank of private, in the service aforesaid, that he left a widow surviving (5) by the name of Minerva Morris at Beaufort S. C. that the
above-named is the only surviving legitimate child of William Morris who was under sixteen years of age at the time of his death, of whom that said chidren wer ethe issue of
soldier, as follows, the dates of their birth being as herinafter stated:
Sarah of soldier by Minerva, born 8 day April 1865
That the mother was married under the name of Minerva Mopson to (8) William Morris, there being no legal barrier to such marriage; that the said child have not aided or
abetted the rebellion; and that no prior application has been filed. that declarant hereby appoints with full power of substitution and revocation, J O and S. S Wright of
Washington, D. c. her attorneys to prosecute the above claim; that her post office address is Palatka, Putnam Co Fla.
